It's my Birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂👑👑👑👑 I’m so excited about this birthday and I honestly cannot say this is the one reason why. Funny thing is, I was in all forms of mood this past weeks/days. It has really been a roller coaster, but I’m grateful for it all because Adulthood is all forms of Expansion. Let’s even address the fact that as people get older, they sometimes are not so excited because they consider their achievements in line with their age. But yo! So this is no fiction, this is me!  There was a period in my life when I was involved with someone for selfish motives or perhaps I should say it was due to walking “out of purpose”. Unfortunately, I was like an unwittingly running project for the individual, and I was psychologically harmed as a result (not necessarily the person’s fault) . Oh my! It took years to recover. I wish I could give so many examples of mindsets that lingered for so long before I could eventually break off from them but I will give one for the sake of this piece.  There were instances when I wanted to put something out but was so worried about what people would think, what reactions I would get, and how I would handle it if I didn’t get the desired reactions (my mind was basically playing so many games in one field, hahaha )…… And guess what? As a fashion designer, while I was trying to create, cut and make an outfit- this whole illustration played out in my head and I’d like to share. Think about a new born baby as a new piece of fabric either satin, cotton, crepe, linen, stretchy, jean, velvet, net, chiffon, leather; every fabric with it’s own importance. How do I mean? The way you can’t successfully use net in place of a cotton fabric is the same way you can’t use jean fabric where velvet is needed. Every fabric came with it’s different texture for a reason and in the hands of a very brilliant fashion designer and stylist, a beautiful outfit will be produced with the right combination of fabrics. As a lady or a man, have you ever wanted to make a style and the designer tells you it’s a particular fabric that can work perfectly for that style?
